Mary L. Brown

Campus Missionary and Pioneer

Mary Brown is from Columbus, Georgia where she first fell in love with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries at Columbus State University as a student. Upon graduating, she completed the Campus Missions in Training program in May 2015 at her Alma Mater and remained on staff at Columbus State University for two more years. Afterwards, she was asked to serve as the Interim Director at Georgia Southern University where she ran the ministry until  her permanent replacements were hired in 2018. She spent another year helping the new directors transition in smoothly and then began the journey to pioneer a Chi Alpha campus ministry at the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in Atlanta, GA. The pioneering process included her becoming a Nationally Appointed Missionary in April 2019 and becoming an ordained minister in August 2020.

Since then, she married her husband Devon Brown, who is also a Chi Alpha missionary and  has joined her in the journey to pioneer. They moved to Atlatna in August 2020 and have been actively ministering to the students attending Spelman, Morehouse, and Clark Atlanta!

Mary's journey as a Campus Minister began five years ago at  Columbus State University (CSU)! It was there that she fell in love with preaching, teaching, and discipling so she could ultimately help students have an authentic relationship with Christ!

Chi Alpha at Georgia Southern

Mary's time at Georgia Southern was one of the most rewarding seasons of her life! God used this season of her life to teach her how to be a director and run a campus ministry. So many memories made in the two years she was there (August 2017 - May 2019) that she will treasure forever.

Chi Alpha at Spelman

Over the years, Mary has developed a passion to reach the African American Community with the Hope of the Gospel and prays that she can use her experience to let other minority Christians know they are not alone in their walk with their Lord.

Mary believes in using her past experiences to help others navigate through their lives as pioneers and access their 3D Healing. She lives by 1 Corinthians 2:3-4 and encourages others to do the same:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

- 1 Corinthians 2:3-4
